How to successfully carry out the projects I. (on topic Mental health and Well-being) under European Solidarity Corps program

Training Course

23-24 May 2022 | Prague, Czech Republic

Are you wondering: What to do with volunteers in challenging situations? How to help them to deal with them? How to support volunteers concerning their mental health and well-being?

We will tackle this topic from different points of view for two days in May. (arrival 22.5., departure 25.5., training 23-24.5.)

The aim of this training course is to spotlight the topic of mental health and well-being of volunteers and discuss possible strategies to support volunteers’ mental health in different stages of their project.

The objectives:

  • To equip European Solidarity Corps coordinators and mentors with some knowledge and understanding of the topic of mental health
  • To learn how to work with the topic of mental health of volunteers in different stages of the project cycle (e.g. what to ask during the first interview with volunteers)
  • To empower the participants in solving challenging or emergency situations throughout the project cycle.

What we will do:

  • look at the mental health out of the box
  • get some data about mental health in the young population
  • discuss good practices
  • discuss tips to address the topic with volunteers in different project stages (e.g. interview with applicants, preparation stage, a crisis in the project, etc.)
  • discuss and plan strategies to prevent or solve emergency situations

Trainers: Both trainers Dorota Madziová and Lucie Příšovská have been involved in training courses for volunteers and organizations participating in volunteering projects for the Czech NA for several years. They will combine their skills and expertise from their field of work: Dorota is a career counselor and psychotherapist and guides people on their life journey. Lucie is an embodiment and voice coach and focuses on self-awareness, expression, and connection through working with movement and voice.

This training is for coordinators and mentors of the European Solidarity Corps.

★ Safety during the training: we take the situation regarding COVID-19 seriously and appropriate safety measures will be observed during this activity (single room for each participant, available hand sanitizer, enough space during the activities etc.)★
