Study visit in Lithuania: Explore the programme possibilities available to youth with intellectual disabilities

Study Visit

20-24 June 2022 | Vilnius, Lithuania

It aims to bring organizations working with youth with intellectual disabilities together, showcase good practices & participation possibilities as well as encourage international cooperation.

The idea of the event…

We wish to get our organizations working in intellectual disability field together and to encourage their international partnerships as well as participation in European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus + projects. While building relations and having tools we can create a space for youth with disabilities explore a wider world. For young people as well as for organizations participation in transnational mobility or local projects can become a great learning opportunity. During this study visit we would like to explore forms of cooperation, possibilities with life examples, and connect them with our experiences building new bridges.

Partnerships may take a variety of forms (peer support, sharing methods, implementing ex-change activities together, etc.). Organisations in the field of intellectual disabilities achieve wonderful results while participating in the programme. Since, inclusion of youth with fewer opportunities is a priority of the programme, let’s focus on this target group and bring programme to them.

The main objectives of the study visit are:

  • to raise motivation of international partnerships;
  • to provide space for inter-professional exchange;
  • to explore good practices of international cooperation;
  • to provide participants with basic information on possibilities for international cooperation under Erasmus + and Solidarity Corps Program;
  • to provide space towards first steps for international cooperation.

Participant profile:

  • Staff of organizations working with youth with intellectual disabilities.
  • Youth workers, social workers, psychologists, youth project managers working in close proximity with youth with intellectual disabilities, and other practitioners.
