Training Course

1-5 November 2022 | Oslo, Norway

We invite youth workers to learn more on how to support learning within youth work. The course focuses on local and international youth work, their learning potential and how youth workers can better support young people in documenting their learning.

Tuning In: Learning in Youth Work is a training course for professional and/or voluntary youth workers working directly with young people on a regular basis.

The aim of the course is to increase youth workers’ competences in facilitating learning of young people during youth work activities.

Objectives:

1. To explore and exchange about the potential for learning within youth work activities;

2. To provide knowledge regarding tools to support individual and group learning;

3. To practice self-reflection as a youth worker who facilitates learning of others;

4. To develop practical skills in expressing learning in writing and how to support it;

5. To inspire and motivate youth workers to put these methods and approaches in practice while supporting young people in their learning.

Target group:

The invitation to apply to this training course is for you if you are:

  • a professional and/or voluntary youth worker working directly with young people on a regular basis; 
  • facilitating learning process of young people individually or in groups within youth work activities;
  • ready to look at your youth workers’ competences,
  • at least 18 years old;
  • able to communicate and learn in English;
  • to be able to organise a youth work activity with a learning element after the course (local / international).

Venue:

The training course will be hosted in a youth hostel in Oslo, Norway. The place is partially accessible to people with disabilities. Please contact the organisers to receive specific information. 

Programme:

The training course lasts for 4 full working days + arrival day and departure day. The course focuses on learning, reflection and youth work. The programme is built on a variety of methods and tools around learning, reflection, peer-learning, competence development and formulating learning outcomes.

Costs

Participation fee

This project is financed by the participating National Agencies (NAs) of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. The participation fee varies from country to country. Please contact your National Agency or SALTO Resource Centre (SALTO) to learn more about the participation fee for participants from your country.

Accommodation and food

The hosting NA (NA Norway) will organise the training and cover the costs for accommodation and food.

Travel reimbursement

The sending NAs and SALTOs (NA in your country or SALTO in your region) will cover the costs for travel. Please contact your NA or SALTO in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO once again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
