Policing the (youth) policies in Europe

Training Course

25-28 November 2022 | Hotel Planeta Inn, Jevrejska 36, Novi Sad, Serbia, Serbia

The TC will gather youth workers (no age limit) and young people 15-30 years old from Serbia, Poland, Germany and Finland. Up to 40 individuals eager to learn about municipal youth policies and get involved in advocacy for youth work on municipal level.

The training will build cross-border partnerships among people and organisations and connect them with European level youth NGO’s. Good practices in grassroots youth work support and youth policies advocacy on municipal level shared by activists from: the Creative District in Novi Sad, Youth center OPENS, EXIT music festival and Europe Goes Local project.

This international event also aims to build on the learning outcomes from the previous project activity - national workshops organized during September and October 2022 in Serbia, Poland, Germany and Finland by the project partners. Building especially in the sense of further exploration of the actual youth needs identified during the national workshops, as well as their relation towards future municipal youth policies.

We are looking for participants who are working in the field of non-formal learning and youth work, as well as for participants who are young people (15-30) and are not actively involved in non-formal education but have a desire to become more active and get involved in youth work and advocacy.

Association "People's Parliament" (Youth NGO)

Association “People's Parliament” is a very experienced public advocacy NGO from Serbia and is one of the more experienced and active youth-serving organizations from the country. People's Parliament founded during 1999 has strong experience, expertise and resources gathered over 20+ years’ of very active work. The organization possess significant references in many fields, including both working for the benefit of disadvantaged youth with fewer opportunities, as well as empowering political participation of young people, especially in relation to processes connected to youth policies and advocacy in relation to all level of youth-related policies.

People's Parliament acts through 3 program areas: Public advocacy, Human rights and Youth activism. The “Youth activism” programme served as the basis for implementation of a several dozen local, national and international youth-serving non-profit projects over 20+ years. Being one of the more experienced and active youth organizations in Serbia, the org served as a resource center organization for the Ministry of youth and sports of Serbia for a decade (2008-2018), supporting implementation of the NYS (National youth strategy) and making it possible for 100+ small projects to be implemented by local youth organizations and non-formal youth groups.
Up to this day, the organization has organized 500+ events directly involving 10 000+ young men and women: trainings, seminars, internships and apprenticeships, study visits, lectures, business-development consultancy programs, IT-skills educations, youth policy consultancies, etc. Association “People's Parliament” to this day successfully completed 200+ public advocacy initiatives that resulted in numerous legislative acts and practices of public authority organizations in Serbia to change for the better.

Costs

Participation fee

Participation in the training course is free of charge. No participation fee is required. European Union via the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 programme (European Youth Together KA3) is co-funding the activity.

Accommodation and food

Organizer will cover accommodation and food costs for all participants of the training. During the period of November 25-28th, 2022. Accommodation is in twin rooms in the four star Planeta Inn hotel in Novi Sad, Serbia. Meeting room, as well as the dinning premises are in the same hotel.

Travel reimbursement

Organizer will reimburse 100% of incurred travel costs to all participants. Following travel costs will be acceptable for participants travelling from Serbia, Poland, Germany and Finland: air travel in economy class up to 250 EUR, public transport costs (bus, train and tram) - no upper limit.
