31 January - 4 February 2023 | Chania, Greece

This training course is for those involved in volunteering projects and wish to improve their crisis management skills, gain knowledge about crisis management and practical methods and information

What is this course about: 

This 3-day residential TC in Crete is seeking to provide answers to the following questions:

• What is crisis management in Volunteering Projects?

• How can crisis incidents affect the contribution of a volunteer to the project and how the quality of the project may be affected?

• How can organisations handle crisis during a volunteering project?

Aim of the course:

To explore how crisis incidents can be managed during Volunteering projects and to create a space for sharing knowledge and exchanging experiences and good practices 

Objectives:

  • Discuss potential crisis incidents and define potential threats during hosting volunteering projects
  • Work on case studies and exercises of occurred crisis incidents
  • Explore the role and responsibilities of the organisations, tools and methods used to mitigate crisis incidents
  • Share examples of crisis management within the hosting organisations
  • Work on  crisis management plan development

Participants profile: Volunteering projects coordinators, volunteering projects project managers, representatives of organisations that hold Quality Label with hosting or/and leading role

04.02.2022 (date of departures from Chania)

Recognition of learning: Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate and will be introduced to ETS Competence Model for youth workers to work internationally.

Participation fee

This project is financed by the Hellenic National Agency of Erasmus+/ Youth and European Solidarity Corps. Participation fees may apply based on your country of residence. Please contact your National Agency  to learn more about the participation fee for participants from your country.

Accommodation and food

Hellenic National Agency will organise the accommodation in single rooms and cover the costs for accommodation and food.

Travel reimbursement

Please contact your NA or SALTO in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
