EGL Study Visit on Local Youth Work, Gothenburg Sweden

Study Visit

19-22 June 2023 | Gothenburg, Sweden

This study visit aims at exploring local youth work in Gothenburg, Sweden with a focus on young people leading and organizing leisure activities for youth within the municipality of Gothenburg.

This study visit vill gather youth workers and municipality representatives and allow them to explore local youth work in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The participants will be introduced to the youth work system in Gothenburg, meet representatives from Gothenburg municipality and exchange experience and practices on how they are working with leasure acitivies for youth. Participants will also visit youth centers and meet local youth workers as well as young people taking part in the leisure activity programmes. 

There will also be a introcution to the EGL Charter on Local Youth Work and discussions on how to enable future cooperation within the EU Youth programmes Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps.

Preliminary program: 

2023.06.19 arrival day and start of study visit.

  • 12.00 Arrival and lunch.
  • 14:00 Presentation of the programme / practical information.
  • 15:00 Presentation of participants / expectations and experiences.
  • 16:30 Presentation local youth work in Gothenburg / how it all started / summer leisure activites.
  • 18:30 end of first day.

2023.06.20-21 programme days of study visit.

  • Study visit to Gothenburg municipality and their summer leisure programme (contains multiple study visits to different parts of their programme).
  • Workshop / exchange on good practices and ideas / reflection.
  • Seminar and discussion about the EGL charter on local youth work.
  • Quality development of the summer leisure programme - how to improve quality in the local youth work.

2023.06.22 departure day and ending of study visit

  • 09:00 Partnership with civil society organisations.
  • 10:00 Workshop and reflection - what have I learned?
  • 11:00 Reconnect to expectations of the study visit.
  • 12:00 Lunch and departure

This study visit is a part of Europe Goes local strategic partnership and aims to increase quality of local youth work through sharing of best practices.

Participation fee

This project is financed by the participating National Agencies (NAs) of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. The participation fee varies from country to country. Please contact your National Agency or SALTO Resource Centre (SALTO) to learn more about the participation fee for participants from your country.

Accommodation and food

Unless specified otherwise, the hosting NA or SALTO of this offer will organise the accommodation and covers the costs for accommodation and food.

Travel reimbursement

Please contact your NA or SALTO in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
