EXIT 3.0 - Experiential Learning for Inclusion

Training Course

2-8 July 2023 | Riga, Latvia

Training for youth workers, trainers, and professionals, welcoming those with diverse abilities as well, who would like to refresh their toolbox in the topic of inclusion based on experiential learning methodologies.

Our objectives are to:

- Discover innovative educational methods in the field of experiential learning for inclusion, exploring intersections of facilitation of experiential learning activities through outdoor activities, performative and creative methods, etc.

- Develop the competencies of the participants based on the role of facilitator of experiential learning, while exchanging the best educational practices among the participants.

- Train participants on how to create accessible activities for each target group according to the principles of universal design.

- Allow participants to put experiential learning methods into practice through follow-up activities

With our EXIT training, we want to equip youth workers, trainers, and professionals working with young people with hands-on methods and tools to help young people EXIT these challenges.

Approach and format:

Experiential learning

The process whereby knowledge is created through the transformation of experience. Knowledge results from the combination of grasping and transforming the experience. The experiential theory proposed by Kolb takes a more holistic approach and emphasizes how experiences, including cognition, environmental factors, and emotions influence the learning process.

Universal design

Universal design principles can be used when designing non formal education programmes in a way that makes them accessible for everyone.

Inclusion

Nowadays, having an inclusive approach in youth work is essential for those with diverse abilities, at social exclusion risk, NEET youth.

Practice

Will be passed through the participant's own experience that we will immediately put into practice.

Reflection on the trainer’s competencies

The reflection process will be in line with the ETS competence European Youth Work framework.
