Study Visit on Accreditation

Study Visit

11-15 March 2024 | Danhostel Ishøj, Denmark

The study visit in Denmark will provide opportunities for organisations working with young people, youth clubs, or youth centres to come together, exchange, and discuss practices and strategies on youth work enabled by accreditation within Erasmus+ Youth.

The study visit aims to provide a platform for sharing how an Erasmus+-accreditation can be a strategic tool that contributes to organisations viewing youth work as a means to create learning within the organisation, rather than merely as isolated activities for young people.

The activity program will include field visits (or visits from) local youth organisations, partnership-building activities, thematic working groups, and discussions on how to use accreditation as a strategic tool. The activity can also serve as a space to initiate new ideas and local projects, as well as to explore and exchange best practices in youth involvement and youth work.

Participants will explore the projects and methods implemented to establish sustainable youth work by sharing knowledge and experiences from their own countries and organisations.

The learning objectives of the study visit are as follows:

  • To increase knowledge and gain new experiences on Erasmus+, especially accreditation.
  • To raise awareness of how non-formal and informal learning activities play a crucial role in developing well-rounded young people.
  • To establish an understanding of how international youth work activities can create learning within the organisation itself, with long-term strategy facilitated by accreditation.
  • To gain a better understanding of youth work practices in the context of the European Charter of Local Youth Work.
  • To form partnerships within the group.

Profiles of the participants:

  • Newcomer organisations in the context of Erasmus+, but familiar with the action youth exchange
  • Organisations with lesser experience with accreditation or an interest in applying for accreditation.
  • Ready to share and exchange their own experiences of working strategically with (international) youth work
  • Municipal youth work experience is a plus.
