This study visit will provide an opportunity to explore inclusive youth participation focusing on the practicalities and realities of meaningful participation at a local level and including seldom-heard young people.

It will provide an opportunity to learn and share practice with local youth workers, youth managers and municipality/public servant workers in good practices in youth participation ensuring adequate space for youth voices in youth work and connecting to youth participation policies, strategies, and models.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Establish a Common Ground: Understanding Youth Participation in local youth work.
  • Increase the understanding and links between youth participation policies, strategies, and models to the realities of local practice.
  • Enhance the understanding of the practicalities of including seldom-heard young people in participation practices.
  • Allow for Observations and reflections on existing practices with study visits
  • Connect with other youth workers from different countries.
  • Provide ‘space’ for exchange and sharing good practices.
  • Build a stronger network and synergies for potential future projects in youth participation or youth worker’s participation practices.

This event is ideal for local youth workers, youth managers and municipality/public servant workers who wish to develop and expand local youth participation practices for seldom-heard young people.
