TEC Forum 2024

Conference – Symposium - Forum

30 September - 4 October 2024 | Weimar, Germany

The TEC Forum 2024 is a seminar designed for trainers active in the European Solidarity Corps and NA officers who implement the TEC learning cycle.

In 2024, the Forum is hosted by the German National Agency in collaboration with the SALTO European Solidarity Corps Resource Centre and the Lithuanian National Agency.

It is a 3 full working days event planned on 30 September until 4 October 2024.  The arrival of the participants is expected on 30th of September 2024 and departure on 4th of October 2024. The TEC Forum 2024 is a continuation of the events organised 2011 in Italy, 2014 in Switzerland, 2018 again in Italy, 2021 in Belgium, 2022 in Estonia and 2023 in Poland. This is a long history of experiences and at the same time motivation to continue strengthening the community of TEC trainers and connection with the National Agencies.

In 2024, our special thematic focus will be on civic engagement as one of the essential components of the European Solidarity Corps. Taking the global current crises (climate crisis, geopolitical crisis, democracy under pressure, ...) into account, we believe it is time to focus on how we with our trainers and NA work will contribute to strengthen civic and democratic values.

Therefore, we offer space that participants can work in self-organised three-day-ongoing working groups. On one hand, working groups can deepen burning issues and share their results with plenary. On the other, the plenary discussion and inputs can inspire the working groups for their further discussions. (see attachment)

You may expect:

  • Exchange of questions, insights, ideas and experiences from different perspectives of the people involved in the implementation of TEC: Trainers, training providers, NA officers, SALTO officers
  • Expert contributions on the topic
  • Presentations and feedback on tools and methods (especially on the main topic)
  • Space where you can work together to find new solutions to issues that are important to you in the field of TEC implementation.
  • Space for implementation and consolidation of networks and working groups
  • Fostering a sense of belonging to the international TEC community and mutual support
  • Onboarding on-line meeting for participants of the TEC Forum 2024
  • Follow up on-line meeting for participants

And last but not least, you will be in Weimar, a city, which played a big role in European history.

The TEC Forum will take place in the EJBW Weimar, which is one out of seven partners of JUGEND für Europa to implement TEC OAT and MTM. You will therefore have the opportunity to dive deeper into a real TEC learning environment.

  • Facilitators of the TEC Forum 2024 will be Lisa Teresa Gut (DE) and Vika Mato (LT).

By this approach, the TEC Forum 2024 will also contribute to the general objectives of the previous forums:

  • To strengthen a common understanding and knowledge of the diversity of practices, approaches and quality elements of TEC and the European Solidarity Corps programme;
  • To stimulate a community of practice and networking.
  • To provide space for exchange of experiences, needs and networking initiatives of TEC trainers belonging to different countries/training pools
  • To provide space for the exchange of experiences and co-operation initiatives of NA officers
  • To explore current societal challenges and their impact on TEC activities, as well the impact it has on the volunteers in specific areas of competence development (learning, solidarity, active participation, etc.)
  • To gain an insight into trainers‘ competences required in order to ensure quality and to respond to the needs of volunteers through TEC
  • to create a platform for reflections and recommendations for the implementation of the TEC within the European Solidarity Corps

Looking forward to work with you in Weimar!
