“Crea-Acción” – creativ action with Euromed youth exchanges

Training Course

27 April - 4 May 2013 | Viznar , Spain

Training course for the organisation and facilitation of Euro-Mediterranean youth exchanges as a tool for local development - for inclusion, intercultural cooperation and youth participation.
In this training course the participants will be qualified for the organization and facilitation of youth exchanges as a tool for local development. They will learn how to prepare the group and the activities, how to involve the local community, how to facilitate learning processes with the help of dynamic and participative methodologies, and how to evaluate and disseminate project results. Among the methodologies of non-formal education we will focus on the use of the audio-visual media, video and photo, as expressive tools for the promotion of youth participation. The aim of the seminar is to offer methodologies and practical knowledge to youth leaders and social workers in Europe and the Mediterranean, and to help them to learn to use these tools in intercultural contexts. Both the video and the photo are very potent tools in non-formal education and able to stimulate intercultural sensitization and empowerment of groups with fewer opportunities. Thanks to the presence of partners who are working in this field, we will be able to exchange about good practices and compare different strategies for inclusion, intercultural cooperation and youth participation. The program also offers on-site visits to projects who are working with audio-visual media, for inclusion and youth participation in Andalusia. This training course also supports the creation / consolidation of a euro-mediterranean network of persons and organizations active in the field of youth work. We will facilitate the creation of future common projects and offer information about the possibilities of the Youth in Action program.

Association Intercultural life (Youth NGO)

Intercultural life is an association active in the field of non-formal education. With our projects and seminars we offer a frame for creative and permanent learning experiences, which allow the participants to develop their abilities of interaction, reflexion and social action. We want to foster key competences which are important for the life in a modern globalized word such as intercultural competence, communication skills and critical thinking.

We promote:
• Intercultural learning
• Participation and democratic citizenship
• Tolerance and respect
• Gender justice
• Integration of marginal groups (ethnic minorities, migrants, young people with fewer opportunities, persons with a disability etc.)
• Environmental awarenes
• Learning of new social key competences

Our main target groups are young people and other social groups with fewer opportunities, as well as social workers, youth workers and teachers. We are cooperating with schools, centers for vocational training, NGOs and public bodies.

We offer seminars, trainings and workshops on a local and international level, coaching for youth initiatives, youth exchanges, networking projects, as well as consulting services in european youthwork. We are coordinating, receiving and sending organisation with the European Voluntary Service.

Methodology
Our work is based on the principles of active education, an educational approach which defines the individual as the actor of its own educational process. Our methods facilitate cooperation and participation and offer opportunities to discover other social and cultural realities, to act, to communicate, to reflect and thus to learn. The learning process unites the cognitive, the affective and the action-oriented levels.

In our activities we use creative methods as video, photo, theatre and music.
