Volunteering can be described as giving your time and energy freely and by choice without concern for financial gain. It can describe hundreds of different activities that people choose to do in order to benefit or support others in the community. A volunteer therefore is a person who gives a commitment of time and energy for the benefit of the community, which is undertaken freely without financial gain. This training course will be putting an emphasis on the following moments that are closely related to volunteering: - Work towards an enabling and facilitating environment for volunteering in the EU; - Empower volunteer organizations and improve the quality of volunteering; - Reward and recognise volunteering activities; - Raise awareness of the value and importance of volunteering; - Increase the capacity of the partner organizations to organise and implement EVS.
