BUSINESS IN THE BALKANS

Training Course

12-18 October 2013 | Plav, Montenegro

The aim of this course is to show and demonstrate entrepreneurial skills and creativity through non-formal education. Young people from 7 different countries will get together to learn about business development and to look at how to develop their ideas.
The project aims to work with young people and youth workers to support them to develop entrepreneurial skill, build and develop a business model and engage them with the Youth in Action programme. The project will engage the participants on two levels, one teaching young people the skills needed to become an entrepreneur, and two, demonstrating to youth workers how to create such projects in their own communities. The young people will hopefully continue to be engaged as a positive role models to other young people by supporting the development of this process in their own communities. The main objectives of the training course are: • Teaching young people the creative skills needed to become an entrepreneur • Demonstrating to youth workers how to create such projects in their own communities. • Linking young people and youth workers up with inspiring local entrepreneurs as examples of successful business starters. • Demonstrate project management skills, business theory and marketing techniques. • Confidence building, presentations skills and self-promotion. • Highlight funding opportunities for activity with young people such as the YiA programme.

Act Global CIC (Youth NGO)

Act Global is an international not for profit organisation with offices based in the United Kingdom and Indonesia. Our team is made up of full time staff, contracted trainers and volunteers. Established in 2012, Act Global was set up to support non-formal education sector by creating international projects that look at global issues such as poverty and inequality, while also creating an international platform for sharing best practice in the sector.

We develop and deliver international projects for young people and organisations working with young people, whilst also working closely with our partner NGOs, businesses and other funders.

We believe that young people grow best through access to a global education, contact with people from different cultures and being exposed to new positive educational experiences. It’s also our hope that by supporting the development of global citizens, we can foster a more peaceful, sustainable and prosperous world.
