Rehearsal for Life

Training Course

1-10 December 2013 | Bettle, United Kingdom

This training course will be dynamic, focusing mainly on Forum, Invisible and Image Theatre. Through interactive and non formal methods we will introduce participants to new ways of dealing with social problems, conflicts and oppression.
The main goal of the training “Rehearsal for Life” is to increase the capacity of youth workers to encourage participation and involvement of young people in social processes. This call is open for voluntary and professional youth workers, trainers working directly with young people, that are interested in social problems, but are not yet working with the method of Theatre of the Oppressed. The participants must be able to develop and implement a local/regional/ national/ international project afterwards and be motivated to act as multipliers of this method. Participants should be at least 18 years old from one of the following countries: Romania, Slovenia, UK, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Spain, Macedonia. More specific Objectives of the project are: - To develop and improve participants’ skills in non-formal education; social and training skills (communication, leadership and presentation skills, etc.), which are necessary to gain to continue as multipliers of Forum Theatre; - To analyse and describe the aim, role and advantages of the Forum Theatre method; - To apply the working method of Forum Theatre in the participants local/regional/national/international projects; - To create strategies for dealing with team members, and all the process that a Forum Theatre project implies; - To increase active participation of the participants in social processes and change their attitudes; - To develop facilitation and mediation skills; - To find out similarities and differences in social problems that countries/communities are facing on their way to social inclusion, as well as similarities and differences in methods and approaches used to resolve conflicts and problems.
