Discover your potential: a training course on creativity and youth work

Training Course

16-24 February 2014 | Haus Kreisau, Berlin, Germany

Why does making mistakes strengthens youngsters' chances on the job market? Why did Microsoft and Apple introduced compulsory workshops on juggling? And why is it worth to learn from them? Creativity and managing innovation in youth organisations...
The theme of the training course is creativity in managing youth work and organizations - their work processes and projects. Departing from personal development and youth work we will deal with creative thinking, creative problem solving, dealing with barriers in creativity and managing of innovation in youth organisations. We will focus on ways on... * how to support creativity and innovation in youth organizations, * how to support creativity within groups and individuals, * how to create spaces and processes that support creative performance. During the training we will: * Explore your creativity potential, * Experience and analyse your own styles of creative thinking, * Provide you with concrete creative thinking and creative problem solving methods, * Confront you with the main barriers in creative thinking and introducing helpful ways to overcome them – so that your organization can be more innovative and open for new ideas and solutions, * Provide you with tools for enhancing your innovative and creative performance, at individual and organisational level, * Become more aware of the political context / dimension of youth work. The training will be beneficial for the organization that you work in and for you as an individual. The training course is anchored on non-formal education and self-directed learning approaches, learning by experience, outdoor training and pro-active participation methods. The processes planned for the training are to reflect, develop, train and practice methods of creative thinking, dealing with barriers and designing creative processes in organisations in an active, challenging and interesting way. We are targeting this Training offer at several actors and stakeholders in youth work, in order to gather a multiplicity of experiences and diversity within in the group. Employed youth and social workers as well as unemployed young people active as volunteers in their organisations are very welcome. The trainers involved in the training are Giulia Mastropirro, Sławomir Muzioł and Rui Montez. They are qualified and experienced in the issues of creativity thinking, creativity in business, non-governmental organizations, self-development and self directed learning. They bring different, but complementary approaches, which will enrich the project. Venue: We want to grow together, learning from each other. This demands a strong holistic approach and behaviour: living, learning and cooking together considering each other's needs is an important cornerstone of this training course. Therefore we booked a place in a Training House beautifully located just in front of the big Wannsee Lake in Berlin, which allow us to do all that. You will sleep in 3, 4 or 6 bed bedrooms. Check the Picture Gallery: http://haus-kreisau.de/Galerie_Haus-Kreisau.htm. Haus Kreisau is in Berlin. But it feels like you are outside the city. This ideal place for training and immersion in group dynamics is not inviting for sightseeing in Berlin. It takes a long time to get there by public transport. In any case the intensive Training Course does not allow for a lot of private activities. There will be a study visit and a free afternoon in the city. If you would like to spend a few days before or after the TC in order to do sightseeing and enjoying Berlin, we are able to reimburse your travel costs anyway (up to 5 days max.!). For lodging in that case, you have to take care yourself, obviously.
