Calling young adults with experience in Youth in Action Youth Initiatives who are wondering what to do next! Come to Ireland to help us create an online multimedia resource. This website will promote understanding of Transnational Youth Initiatives, especially how they help with youth employment and entrepreneurship. We will use the techniques of independent digital journalism to present the best practice of Youth initiatives to the world! Along the way, we will develop our own ideas and create partnerships for brand new Transnational Youth Initiatives. Come and join a dynamic team from all over Europe on this exciting Irish adventure. In the past years we have seen Youth Initiatives become one of the most effective engines of youth work development in local communities. With the new focus in the Erasmus + Programme, the ‘traditional’ local Youth Initiatives will no longer exist but there are still lessons to be learned from the good practice of successful projects. At the same time, we want to offer the possibility for participants to develop their own partnerships in order to start developing new Transnational Youth Initiatives with young people in their various contexts. This activity will focus on Employment/ Entrepreneurship and Coaching in Transnational Youth Initiatives. The participants will explore the reality of Irish Youth Initiatives, reflect on examples of good practice and develop their own ideas for Transnational Youth Initiatives. Special emphasis will be given on the topics of employability, entrepreneurship and effective coaching. The Aims of the Activity: There are two aims of this study visit: First, to explore the past practises of good quality Youth Initiatives, especially those which have been done in Ireland. Second, to create a platform / reference point for good quality Transnational Youth Initiatives in the future. The Focal Points of the Activity: We will meet these two aims while staying focused on three main points: First, how Youth Initiatives can support youth Employment and Entrepreneurship. Second, The Transnational element of great Youth Initiatives. And third, the importance of effective Coaching in Youth Initiatives. The Outcomes of the Activity: When we are finished, our event will result in two outcomes: First, a dynamic website that highlights everything we’ve learned and supports future Transnational Youth Initiatives. Second, new partnerships for the creation of brand new Transnational Youth Initiatives in the Erasmus + Programme. Objectives: ● To explore the topics of Entrepreneurship and Employability ● To develop and share Coaching Skills ● To explore the Transnational element of Youth Initiatives ● To visit local examples of good practice ● To provide opportunities for partner finding ● To develop transnational youth Initiative project ideas ● To link potential project objectives with the objectives and priorities of Erasmus + The methodology used will be ‘backpack journalism’ and web site development, but no previous knowledge on these topics are required. We will provide equipment and facilitation, but invite you to bring your own light equipment (small cameras, mobile devices, etc.) and relevant expertise as well. Target group: The Study Visit is open to people: • Previously involved in National Youth Initiatives and • Wishing to continue in terms of finding partners to develop transnational youth initiatives. • Able to communicate in English • Over 18 years old • 2 youth participants per group (+ the possibility of 1 leader, if desired) • Programme countries of the Youth in Action Programme.
