Leader Training: LEAD4REASON

Training Course

24 March - 1 April 2014 | Ferrara, Italy

The project aims to empower young people with skills and knowledge to develop and lead international youth and volunteer activities, increase intercultural competencies, share best practices and contribute to improving quantity and quality of activities
International youth and voluntary projects play central role in activities of many NGOs, and most of them need a leader, or coordinator, or group leader. Names could be many, functions may vary – still, the leader is one of the keys to success of international mobility and voluntary projects. With the proposed training we aim to prepare leaders in international atmosphere, discuss different aspects of international voluntary projects and activities and their preparation, international cooperation among organizations, leadership, preventing and solving conflicts and other issues related to leading an international youth project. The project aims to empower young people with skills and knowledge to develop and lead international youth and volunteer activities, increase intercultural competencies, share best practices and contribute to improving quantity and quality of activities under the Youth in Action programme. They will also have the possibility to experiment, design, and implement international youth volunteer activities during an IVP simulation with local youth, expand their knowledge about the new EU programmes targeted at social inclusion and youth and raise public awareness on EU elections in 2014. Methods used during the training will contribute to the process of informal and non-formal learning, social and personal development of the participants and exchange of experience and competences among their peeers. During the training course participants will discuss and plan follow up activities, short- and long-term international volunteer projects on the topics of human rights, social inclusion and active participation and European citizenship, organized by Icarus and its partners which will be realized at national and international level during 2014 and beyond, including those within the framework of the new Erasmus + Programme.
