Competences & Core Qualities Partnership Building Activity - A partnership building activity for youth exchanges as a tool to support personal development

Partnership-building Activity

27-29 June 2014 | De Glind, Netherlands

This PBA will provide an opportunity for youth workers to meet project partners to develop youth exchanges within the framework of Erasmus+ focussed on the development of competences and core qualities of young people (13-20 yrs).
Young people in their teens often struggle with their own identity and with understanding their own potential. They often find it challenging to express the competences they have developed and it is hard to develop a positive self image. Does it sound familiar and are you working with young people on building their self esteem? Are you working with young people between 13-20 years old? Are you interested in supporting young people in their competence development by creating an international youth exchange as a new challenging environment for young people you work with? Would you like to build new partnerships to develop such an international youth exchange together? Then this Partnership Building Activity (PBA) Competences & Core Qualities is your chance to take the first step! This PBA will provide an opportunity for youth workers (both for newcomers and those with experience in youth exchanges) to meet project partners to develop youth exchanges within the framework of the Erasmus+ Youth programme for the specific age group of 13-20 years. The aim is to promote the creation of new partnerships which will lead to youth exchanges for this specific target group and which will promote the development of competences and awareness of core qualities of these young people. Recognizing your own talent and strengths can be very important and motivating for young people. It opens doors to new perspectives, new ideas, to their own creativity. We believe that youth exchanges are an important tool to promote this boosting feeling of empowerment amongst young people. It provides young people an experience that will give them an opportunity to learn new things and to develop their competences and use better their own potential in their future lives. It promotes their active participation, discovery and development of talents and might lead to feelings of inclusion and self-worth. This PBA will provide space for participants * to develop contacts and networks to engage in youth exchanges with other participants * to share information and experiences of their organization, target groups and projects * to gain a clear view of the possibilities within the Erasmus+ Programme and for youth exchanges in particular * to understand how to include non formal learning and Youthpass in Youth Exchange projects and to see how Youth Exchanges can be used as a tool for empowerment and development of competences of young people * to understand the importance of building solid partnerships We are looking for: Youth workers with some prior youth exchange experience as well as newcomers to youth exchanges. Working directly with young people aged between 13-20 years. People having a true and real interest in establishing partnerships within Erasmus+ (youth) Participants being able to use English as working language All participants will be picked up by bus at Amersfoort Central Station at 16.30 on Friday 27th of June.
