Video and youth projects: AIR MEDIA "Adieu les Idées Reçues" "Bye bye received ideas"!

Seminar

29 October - 2 November 2014 | Marseille , France

The seminar is designed to be a collaborative laboratory to share and experience learning methods and tools. The focus is on how to use video media as an useful tool into Youth projects, particularly those including youngsters with fewer opportunities.
Do you see video as a perfect tool to fight against stereotypes / received ideas and broad minds? Do you have experience in using video as a way to integrate youngsters, especially those facing difficulties, into your projects? Did you develop good practices on using video to promote your work and the involvement of youngsters? Are you willing to share it and take advantage of similar experiences in order to be even better in your work? If the answers are yes... we might have the perfect event for you! What is it?: AIR MEDIA project's main objective is to work on the concept of prejudice and especially how they can be exclusion factors. This will involve working through an innovative model: - The concept of prejudice on others and oneself, - The realization that we all have prejudices, - How prejudice can be a source of exclusion, The "AIR Media" would, on the one hand, professional access to 4 days for exchange, experience sharing on this dual theme of "bias vs insertion." The main objective will be to work in concrete and practical ways through various multimedia tools and levers on existing facilities to cope with this problem. On the other hand, this project would also be open to 12 young people, themselves facing these difficulties. The goal would be to give them a means of expression and a tool for analyzing these issues through the construction and implementation of a TV tray. Above all, "AIR Media" aims to cross the looks and work between professionals and young participants. This is to promote dialogue and intergenerational learning. We want to create a system based on participation and responsibility of each project in order to explore the different facets and forms of prejudice, exclusion and levers to inclusion. An event based on sharing and experimenting methods that have the power to improve the use of video media as a tool in youth projects. Various practical workshops will help us to tackle 2 mains issues: • How to communicate about projects involving young people through “catchy” videos? • How to use video media as a way to include all kind of youngsters into European projects ? The seminar will be facilitated by European trainers and English will be used as the language for the seminar. Who?: We would like to involve Youth workers developing Youth in Action projects (leaders, coaches, mentors and trainers) and youngsters. More precisely, 20 experienced youth workers and/or youngsters with the following profiles: - Experience in EVS and Youth in action/ Erasmus + projects is required - Work with youngsters with fewer opportunities - Taste for NTIC and video Why?: To spread good practices and tips allowing a better use of video as a tool for Youth projects specially those which reflect on how fight against stereotypes and exclusion. How?: In two words... BY SHARING! This event is based on collaborative participation principles. Therefore it is expected that the participants are experienced leaders, coaches, mentors or trainers in Youth field. The participants will have the leading role both as learners during the event as well as in sharing learning experiences to the rest of the group. The seminar will be also strongly connected with another event: A video contest: EVS film Festival (http://www.tempoconnect.com/evsff ) // promoting short films made by people under 35 years showing their view on Citizenship (contest open until 7th september!). Where ? Marseille, France When? 29th of October - 2nd of November 2014 (3 full days / 2 travel days)
