Soil for Life is a training course that intends to address the need for non formal and informal environmental education to be skillfully grounded in contemporary sciences by the use of holistic learning models and experiential approaches.
Let's get Down to Earth ...on this journey we will try & find hidden connections, that sustain the soil from which thoughts, feelings & actions flourish by taking care of this beautiful living planet, sometimes called Gaia... MAIN AIM: To create synergies between analytic skills based on critical thinking & holistic science, and life skills for community living, that include social and interpersonal skills focused on caring for a healthy life, environment and community. TARGET GROUP This course is designed for experienced youth workers, environmental educators, unemployed youth with life science studies interested in alternative education, and NGO's volunteers working on ecological or community projects. PARTNER COUNTRIES: CZ, SP, IT, PT, BE, UK, HU, PL OBJECTIVES: • Exchange innovative experiences on environmental education between different countries. • Implement and explore holistic environmental learning approaches. • Practice experiential methods that help understanding scientific knowledge, building bridges between formal , non formal and informal education. • Train new skills and competences that contribute to a healthy and sustainable life and community. • Share tools that support the understanding of European environmental and educational policies • Discuss and identify crucial factors that ensure the quality of non formal environmental education. • Encourage young trainers and participants to create their own environmental education programs. • Create an e-book on the content and process practiced in the course with the intention to give visibility to the project and share the results. http://s4l.gaiaysofia.com/

Costs

Food and accommodation will be provided free of charge for the full length of the course. The course will have a participation fee to be paid before hand by bank transfer or paypal, in order to confirm your participation in the course along with a proof of your travel booking. The exact amount you choose to contribute will be, depending on your financial possibilities, something from 40 € to 120 € As such, each participant will get 100% of travel expenses reimbursed, up to 275 €. (180€ for spanish participants).

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
