Tmelník o.s. (Youth NGO)

Tmelník o.s. is a youth civic initiative formed into an NGO. Our general aim is enrichment of educational, social and cultural life of young people living in our region with regard to a wider perspective of such issues within all Czech Republic, EU and beyond.
We have implemented several Youth in Action projects (1.1 and 4.3) as well as projects financed by other nationals units.

We focus mainly on organizing youth exchanges initiated and developed by our target group itself under our mentoring and overall support. Locally, we furthermore organize various workshops, debates, happenings and other events and meetings initiated mainly by the young people from the local community themselves.

Our NGO was officially registered in February 2011 by the core members of informal group of young people called “Tmelnik – youth initiative”.
We have a stable experience as a partner in educational projects organised abroad within the Youth in Action, Europe for Citizens, Grundtvig and Visegrad grant programmes for which we are actively finding appropriate participants within our target group. We are active in the Eurodesk network, as a regional partner in Central Bohemia.
Tmelník o.s. is a civic platform open to everyone.

We work with youth in the age of 15-30 years from all over the Czech Republic. We unite young people who would like to be active, gain some experience, try and learn something new, regardless of their economic, social or cultural background.
The key for us is to work on both local and international projects that append to each other and we try to cover broad scale of themes and topics according to what our target group finds interesting. We focus mainly on youth participation, intercultural understanding, active citizenship, entrepreneurship, but also art and culture which we more often utilize as the working method, too. Within our activities, we promote and apply the principles of tolerance to diversity, open discussion, active initiatives, shared experiences, volunteering, non-formal education and informal learning.
