This training course is a learning-by-doing experience and participants will engage in practical activities to develop their competences on how to use non-formal education methods in relation to environmental topics.
This training course is a learning-by-doing experience and participants will engage in practical activities to develop their competences on how to use non-formal education methods in relation to environmental topics. Some focus points in the programme will be: do-it-yourself workshops, experiential learning, collaborative consumption and co-distribution, exploring nature and outdoor activities. The event is designed for trainers, facilitators, youth workers, youth leaders, teachers, volunteers, staff members working with non-formal education and/or environmental topics. Participants need to be over 18, have a good command of the English language and be ready to engage in interactive educational activities. The objectives of the training course are to: Develop participants’ competences in using non-formal education in youth work, focusing on environmental issues. Create and share non-formal education methods focused on the topic of the environment. Explore the topic of the environment in youth work and share knowledge and experiences related to it among the participants. The event will be held in Slanic Moldova, a beautiful mountain area, where participants will have the chance to explore outdoor non-formal education activities. The training course “Non-formal Education and the Environment” is part of the multi-measure project “Knocking on NFE’s Door”, implemented by a consortium of partners from: France, Italy, Romania, Spain, United Kingdom and Sweden. The overall aim of the project is to gain a better understanding of how non-formal education works in different fields of youth work. We also want to create and share methods in order to improve the quality of youth work, focusing on these three main topics: Active Participation, Environment and Life Skills. Costs

The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme and we will cover the costs for accommodation, food, training materials and activities.
