Are you working with marginalised youth? Do you see diversity as a source of inspiration? Apply for A KIND OF MAGIC: long-term project (February-May 2018) with 2 residential training courses (9-16.2. & 21-27.5.2018) +coaching &practice phase in between.
★ WHAT IS IT? ★ A KIND OF MAGIC is a long-term Erasmus+ project for youth workers and youth leaders working with different diversity groups and marginalised youth. It consists of 2 residential training courses (TC) and a coaching and practice phase between. First meeting will take place 9-16.February 2018 in ecological center Slunakov (http://www.slunakov.cz/en/) close to Olomouc, Czech Republic. Second meeting will take place 21.-27.May 2018 in Sermugnano close to Rome, Italy. Between the first and second training course participants will implement non-formal education activities in their local communities. They will receive support and coaching for developing them, and on second training course they will share their experience and learning. ★ WHAT IS THE "MAGIC"? :)★ We see diversity not as a challenge, but as a source for inspiration! Our definition of "MAGIC": the art of creating special, valued experiences and relationships with and for young people celebrating in all their forms uniqueness, talent and diversity. We believe that something magical happens, whenever one’s talents and abilities are put into service so that other people can benefit from them. This is all the more true in the dynamic world we live in today. Many forms of "magic" are made possible by science, technology, connections and inspiration. When people can envision their dreams, understand clearly what is the gift they have and want to share with the world, amazing things can happen! We want to support youth workers and young people in their communities, so that more people can discover THEIR magic and have a fulfilling and successful path in life. ★ CAN I APPLY? YES! IF: ★ - you are currently active with a group of youngsters on a LOCAL level - your youth work deals with diversity and/or marginalisation. E.g. your youth groups include young people from certain minority, have economical or social obstacles, are LGBT, religious minority etc. - you are willing to participate in both training courses (9.-16.2. and 21.-27.5.), and also in the preparation and dissemination phase - you are willing to deliver an educational activity on a local level - you are ready to get inspired and motivated for your work :) ★ WHAT ARE THE OBJECTIVES? ★ · Inspire youth workers / youth leaders working with young people from marginalised groups to promote diversity · Examine effective strategies for challenging stereotypes and stigmatisation associated with marginalised groups · Establish partnerships between participants and organisations working with diversity and exchange good practices · To discover different possibilities for inclusive youth work within the framework of Erasmus+ · Explore the understanding of "MAGIC" with youth workers, identify how this is realised and can be used in their work with young people · Provide tools and methods for youth workers for recognising talents and abilities that create the genuine magic within individuals · Experience peer and facilitated support while implementing local initiatives and actions · Discover and explore approaches of empowering young people to share their unique talents and abilities within their communities · Highlight and showcase effective approaches to civic engagement ★ WHO IS IN THE TRAINER TEAM? ★ Buzz Bury, UK: www.buzzbury.co.uk Bára Rodi, Czech Republic: trainers.salto-youth.net/BaraRodi/ Mafalda Morganti, Italy: trainers.salto-youth.net/MafaldaMorganti/ Carmine Rodi Falanga, Italy/ Czech Republic: trainers.salto-youth.net/CarmineRodi/
