YES, AND... - Improvisation in the learning process

Seminar

11-16 December 2018 | Warsaw, Poland

Introducing applied improvisation as a non-formal educational methodology in both formal and informal educational settings Cross sectoral seminar for Youth and School Education sector participants.

Aim:

Introducing applied improvisation as a non-formal educational methodology in both formal and informal educational settings

Summary of the idea:

Applied improvisation is a more complex educational methodology than fun games and energizers. It offers a wide range of opportunities for skills and personal development. It teaches welcome mistakes with a positive attitude, which makes mistakes a valuable part of one's learning process, reduces inner anxiety, strengthens self-confidence and unlocks creativity.

Aims and objectives:

- to introduce applied improvisation as a non-formal educational methodology

- to understand the principles of improvisation (acceptance, welcome mistakes, curiosity as an attitude) and its relation to learning - to show the benefits of the method and its impact on one's learning process

- to explore how to transfer the method into formal educational setting

- to explore how we can support the learning of young people we work with by applying improvisation for both formal and informal educational settings

Target group:

Youth workers, youth leaders, educators, teachers (of upper secondary schools students from 14 to 19 years old) of human subjects as languages, history, literature and other professionals working with young people, who are interested in exploring an innovative approach to learning.

Dates:

11th-16th December 2018. The program consists of 4 full working days.
