Adventure Europe

Training Course

23-27 September 2019 | Thuringia (near Erfurt), Germany

A training for youthworkers dealing with youth living in homes or individual foster care (youthcare). Using Outdoor education to motivate and enable youth to become active (European) citizens.

This is a project for youthworkers/socialworkers who work in imediate contact with young people who live not in families, but in homes or individual foster-care. The intention of this training-course is to show how outdoor education can be used as a tool with a low threshold which can be applied in different situations and used to tackle different issues or problems.

The training combines practical outdoor activites with youth-work relevant input The programme will include outdoor activities like rafting, hiking with horses, camping and how these elements can be used to initiate group-dynamics, discussions and active participation. After the training course participants will be encouraged and supported to use the new methods in their concrete work with the target group. (Please find attached some information on outdoor education)

Six month later the group will meet again, this time in Belgium, and exchange and reflect on their experiences and learning process. Participants will also start to develop European projects with their youngsters and learn how to apply for a grant in Erasmus+ Youth in Action.
