"In Youth Workers’ shoes - Fears and feelings in Youth work" is a TC for Youth workers on the fears that beginner Youth workers (but sometimes also the expert ones) can feel.

DATE: 2-10 July 2019

VENUE:  Vinci, Italy

PARTICIPANTS PROFILE: Youth workers and Youth leaders.

AIMS: Youth work is based on relationships, where Youth workers bring a great part of their identity and values. So, you should be aware of your fears and feelings, to use these on your benefit and on Youth groups benefit. The TC works on recognizing and sharing these fears and providing tools and methods to fight these (fear of the role, fear of communication, fear of public speaking, fear of conflict, fear of judgement,…) through empowerment of the specific competences.

- Provide youth workers a space of reflection on their role, experiences, values and fears;

- Empower their competences in different areas of Youth Work (communication, conflict management, problem solving,..) to face the main fears and overcome these.

- Support participants in putting in practice the learning gained, designing and performing small workshops

- Improve international cooperation between organisations and build of trustful long-term cooperation;

-  Recognition of the educational value of NFE activities - Creation of outcomes (a daily Blog and a website) to spread in order to contribute to Youth Workers empowerment.

METHODOLOGIES: We will use non-formal tools, Videos, simulation games, Theatre exercises, experiential games, Transactional Analysis, Debriefing and feedback methods, Evaluation.
