Conference – Symposium - Forum
25 February 2021 | online, Germany
Intolerant attitudes and racism toward the Roma are pervasive throughout the Europe. Surveys shows high rate of intolerance towards Roma. On the other hand most of the Roma believes that they have not benefited from the achievement of the European Union or put in question its achievements because the Roma are excluded and rarely consulted, their involvement is marginal, and their voice is not heard during the policy-making process.
This conference aims to raise a debate about participation by empowerment as vital elements of Roma inclusion, and to strengthen the civic and democratic participation of marginalized Roma citizens, communities and civil society organizations in European Union’s life, debates and policy-making processes tackling the Roma inclusion.
Topics of this conference are:
- Political and civic engagement of Roma
- Impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on Roma
Various speakers as activists, representatives from international and local organizations, decision makers and politicians will take place.
Profile of participants:
Register by 18 February 2021.
