Youth Leadership for Sustainable Development

This activity aims to foster Youth Leadership for Sustainable Development, deepening the knowledge about Climate Change and the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and developing Youth projects of international cooperation.

Context

Internationally recognised as a priority, the issue of Sustainable Development integrates collective agendas at international, national and local levels. This activity supports entities and youth workers to respond to what young people currently ask for: tools and strategies to become responsible citizens in the context of global environmental challenges.

The activity addresses the themes of Climate Change and SDGs (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals inside 2030 Agenda) through collaborative and experiential methodologies of Non-Formal Education, developing leadership attitudes and skills and providing tools for community work. This activity intends to further stimulates the exchange between entities and the creation of future projects within Erasmus + (E+) and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Programs.

Main aim:

To foster Youth Leadership for Sustainable Development, deepening the knowledge about Climate Change and the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and developing Youth projects of international cooperation.

Specific objectives:

  • to support Youth workers, working with young people who are sensitive to ecological issues, providing them with tools and methodologies, and promoting leadership attitudes and skills in an international framework;
  • to explore and enrich technical knowledge on Climate Change, SDG's (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals1) and strategies for community involvement in the context of global environmental challenges;
  • to encourage the establishment of international partnerships and the creation of future Youth projects, in the field of Sustainable Development.

Methodology & Technical requirements:

The activity will happen on-line, using “ZOOM” - https://zoom.us.  and on-line learning platforms and tools.

It's an immersive 4-days-long course where participants have an active role, contributing with their own knowledge and experience through synchronous and asynchronous assignments.

Be prepared to debate different opinions with other participants, deepening in your own experience and inviting your community and landscape inside the course! The activity will also allow you to collect tools to further explore with young people.

Technical requirements - each participant needs a desktop computer or laptop with camera and microphone, as well as a stable Internet connection.

Profile of participants / Target - group:

  • Youth workers, trainers, youth leaders, project managers, youth policy makers and municipality youth workers;
  • Representatives of organizations and Youth workers particularly interested in the themes of Climate Change and Sustainable Development;
  • Participants must be comfortable with English as a working language;
  • Participants should be at least 18 Years old.
