A Training for Beginner Trainers

Training Course

30 April - 6 May 2022 | Estonia

A Training for Beginner Trainers is a 5 day international training course focused on developing competences linked with the design of trainings, activities and learning experiences in the field of youth work.

This training includes a practical aspect where participants will have the chance to design and implement a short session in small international groups.

The aim of the training:

The training aims to develop the following trainer’s competences:

  • Creating a challenging, democratic and secure learning space
  • Participation of the adult learner and the young person in the learning process
  • Design, plan and adapt to the context, setting and participants needs
  • The trainer’s role for a good Learning Experience – meaningful communication in the process of developing, preparing, conducting and following-up training.

We use active and efficient learning methods when addressing these diverse and related topics. There will be space to analyse the way we personally work as trainers already and how to improve and learn for the future.

The first three training days will be dedicated to exploring the topic of the training. In the 4th day participants, in teams, will be creating 45 min workshop models on the concept(s) of Solidarity. This will be a chance to put into practice what was explored in the previous days and to reflect better and analyse the design approaches from a practical standpoint.

Target group: The training is intended for beginner trainers in the field of youth that already have some experience.

Prerequisite for participation in the training is belonging to the target group of the training.

Participation in the training also requires good English language skills.

The participant needs to follow the Covid-19 regulations set in the hosting country at the time of the training. Regarding the crisis situation in Ukraine, Estonia is currently a safe place to travel to and the organiser will keep participants updated about the security situation if needed.

A brief introduction by himself: "I am an all around trainer with a mixed background and large experience working with children, youngster and adults. I did the 2007 TOT-TRAINING OF TRAINERS by SALTO. My science academic studies allows me to be very structured, organized and always searching for the way to improve. At the same time my creative and more "clowny" side of me mix it up to achieve a nice and strange balance. One of my strengths is on creating a rich and safe learning."
