Tool Fair Poland (in Polish language)

Tool Fair is an international event that brings together youth work experts all over Europe and beyond to discuss and learn from each other about innovative methods and best practices from the field of youth work. Tool Fair in Poland aims at creating space for discussion and exchange of practices for Polish-speaking youth workers and is thought to be a springboard to the international edition of Tool Fair which this year will be held in November in Rovaniemi, Finland.

This Seminar is for 60-80 participants

from Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme countries: Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, and Partner Countries from Russian Federation and the Eastern Partnership region: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine

and European Solidarity Corps: participants from Poland.

The Polish Tool Fair will take place in Warsaw on 8 May and it is directly related to the European Youth Week 2019. The seminar will provide a stimulating environment for varied approaches and practices for youth workers. Since the international Tool Fair is going to promote recognition and quality in youth work as well as support for capacity building and know-how of youth work, youth workers and ESC volunteers who address these issues in their work are particularly invited to present their educational tools and share knowledge.

The Polish Tool Fair will also be an introduction to celebration and promotion of youth activities organised in Warsaw on 9 May on the occasion of the European Youth Week by the Polish National Agency for the Erasmus+ Programme.

The programme of the Polish Tool Fair will include:

• a TF Talk, an inspirational and challenging talk, serving as a food for thought and setting the theme of the event,
• three workshop sessions, offering various tools and best practices in youth work. Workshops will be run by participants.
• Tools Market, a late afternoon event during which the participants will be able to present their tools and get to know others’ ideas for youth work.

Objectives

The Tool Fair will support youth workers in:

• sharing about, learning and reflecting on how to apply competences and education of youth workers on different levels and in different contexts to one’s own reality,
• sharing knowledge, being challenged, getting inspired and critically reflecting on youth policy, research and studies of youth work and society,
• exploring, learning from and supporting further development of practice and methods of working with young people,
• engaging, connecting and experiencing youth work in context, while linking practice to local reality.

Participant profile

The working language of the event will be Polish therefore the participants should be communicate freely in Polish. At the same time, all participants who are potentially interested in running workshops need to be fluent in English, as the Polish Tool Fair is thought to be a springboard to the international edition of the event where youth workers from all Programme and Partner countries present their know-how.

Applications are open for participants who have an interest in the development of competences, approaches, pedagogies and practices fostering quality of youth work and competences of youth workers, who are willing to share and present a tool for learning which is related to the theme, and who are working directly with young people or youth workers.

Theme

The theme for the International Tool Fair XIV is YOUTH WORK KNOW-HOW (competences, approaches, pedagogies and practices). Thus, during the Polish Tool Fair, a special focus on the following topics is expected:

• Definition, Recognition, Youth Work Education
• Research and Studies of youth work and society
• Practice and methods
• Practices, tools, approaches for education and training of youth workers
• Tools that youth workers use to work with young people

Also, since the event opens celebration of the European Youth Week in Warsaw, we wholeheartedly invite topics related to this year’s edition of the European Youth Week which is “Democracy and me”.

Selection criteria

• Fluent in Polish (those who wish to run workshops need also be able to communicate freely in English)
• Willing to run a Tools Workshop and/or sharing a Tool for learning
• Devoted to participating in the full process of the activity
• Have visions and plans how to use what they learned in their work
• Have the potential to develop their competencies in relation to the objectives of the activity
• Motivated to contribute and participate in the events organised in Warsaw on the occasion of the European Youth Week 2019 on 9 May.
