“Youth Goals: a pathway to practical implementation”

Training Course

15-22 September 2019 | Mollina (Málaga), Spain

The general objective of this training action is to promote the implementation of Youth Goals as a tool for empowerment of European youth entities in the field of youth rights.

Youth Goals are the gateway to implement the rights approach within youth entities. This training action aims to generate a strategic model for planning activities arising from the collaboration and experience of the participants and with the Youth Goals as a transversal element.

In this twentieth edition of the University, the theme has focused on the concept of "Youth and Justice" within the framework of the triennium that began last year and focuses on SDG 16: "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions".

From the last contextualization arises the approach of the proposed training action: Youth Goals are directly linked to a series of inalienable rights of young people and their implementation contributes to guarantee a state of social justice at all levels. Therefore, it is necessary that young people reflect on the best way to incorporate these goals in the development of their activities in a transversal way. The Youth Goals have an undeniable European perspective, so it is in a transnational forum like the one offered by the University of Youth and Development where a joint reflection can best be reached on which measures of implementation can be built.

Considering that youth organizations have structures and activity models as varied as the interests of young people, this training action is planned as a joint reflection on the application of youth goals in models of youth participation.

The general objective of this training action is to promote the implementation of Youth Goals as a tool for empowerment of European youth entities in the field of youth rights.

The specific objectives to achieve this end are the following:

O1. Expand the perspective of the participants on the need to apply the Youth Goals in their performance.

O2. Provide the group of participants with the necessary means and networks for the application of the Youth Goals.

O3. Accompany the group of participants in the strategic design for the integration of the Youth Goals.

O4. Promote the creation of a network of agents of change at European level.

With these objectives we want to achieve through our training action results based on the training of young people and youth entities that transcend the limits of the training itself and can be disseminated to other interested European youth organizations.

To this end, a pedagogical approach has been designed that crystallizes into a practical guide of Youth Goals implementation models and that put together collective reflection with technical resources.

The activities that constitute this formative action will lead the participants of a general conceptualization of the Youth Goals to a particular creation of practical models of implementation.

Likewise, the launching of a collaborative network to share good practices regarding the field application of the resulting models of this practical guide is proposed.

The activity programme will be developed by the team, according to the CJE coordination as NA responsible. The activity is planned to be 6 working days as it is shown below:

16/09/2019: plenary sessions to conceptualize the Youth Goals.

17/09/2019: analysis of the perspective of each Youth Goal and its possible implementation.

18/09/2019: analysis of the perspective of each Youth Goal and its possible implementation.

19/09/2019: exchange of good practices among participants.

20/09/2019: planning of the implementation models of each Youth Goal based on the progress of the training action.

21/09/2019: planning of the implementation models of each Youth Goal based on the progress of the training action. Agreement for the development of future actions and strengthening of the work network.
